Thank you for your continued commitment to Art in Motion School of Dance. We are so excited for our dancers to show off all their hard work in our upcoming recital “Dancing into the Magic”! This recital letter is full of information that will guide you through your child’s performance(s). Please read through this packet carefully and if you have any questions, please email us at

Recital Costumes:
Please be sure your child has all the correct pieces to their costume(s). All costumes come with a pair of tights. Tights must be worn underneath each costume. LABEL ALL ITEMS.

Recital Hair & Make-Up:
Hair may be styled to your liking as long as it is pulled back away from the face. If you add any sort of hair accessory, whether one that comes with their costume or of your own, make sure to bobby pin them in to their hair to make sure they don’t fall out on stage. Makeup may be applied at your discretion for children under age 12, however, under the bright lights, facial features wash out and makeup helps the audience to see the dancer's faces more clearly. Good stage makeup will look very exaggerated, dramatic and bold.

Recital Show Cast and Line Up:
We are holding TWELVE shows, between Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th to accommodate all of our fabulous dancers and routines.

Day of Recital:
Showtime, yahoo!! Please check your dancer in at the “Dancer Check- In Station” located at the entrance (again, no adults admitted at this time.) Please arrive (30) minutes prior to show time, dressed and ready to go. We have a strict schedule we MUST stay on.

After checking in, your dancer will proceed to the dressing room with the designated staff member(s). Dancers will remain backstage for the entire show. Adults are not permitted backstage. This is for your child’s safety so we are aware of where and who is backstage at all times. If there is a problem we will make an announcement and have the appropriate adult come backstage.

During the show, Adults and School Age Children need to be masked at all times, there are no medical exemptions at the Fitton Center of Creative Arts. We ask that you do not use any flash photography as this is dangerous for our dancers and can interrupt our video recording.

Once the show has completed you will need to stay seated, as we will dismiss by row. One adult will be able to go into the dressing to pick up your dancer and their belongings. Then you will exit the venue. No one is allowed to linger in the lobby for any reasons.
